Thomas Masters still occupied the adjoining dwelling from which he conducted his business, and did so until his deathin 1915, at which time the "Queens Head" was in the hands of John Gutsell who had taken it over in 1910. Gutsell died here in 1919, whereupon one Sidney Bertram took over. In 1924 he was succeeded by Alfred Harry Herbert. During his time here work on forming the premises as one was completed. He was succeeded in 1938 by Francis Balcombe and he in 1946 by Horace John Wilmott. In 1949 whilst in his hands the "Queens Head" was granted a full licence. He gave up the house in 1953 to Anthony Crundwell. In 1965 whilst in his hands the star brewery sold out to courage barclay and simonds, and in 1973, Crundwell purchased the freehold of the "Queens Head" from courage ltd. He sold the house in 1977 to Eric Davies, he in 1981 to Brian Yole and Alan Hughes and they in 1983 to the present owners John Martin Harris and Ian Charles McFarland Mitchel where it is leased to Grangerest ltd. Trading as The Queens Head And licenced to Co-Directors Ian Charles McFarland Mitchel and Lee Victor Norcott.
